Australian startup Forcite launches MK1S smart helmet in Italy




Smart helmet startup Forcite has been making headlines for years. The brand's MK1 model launched in Australia in July 2019. Forcite delivered 1,380 MK1s during the campaign. But the company reports that another 14,000 people (from the US, Europe and Australia) queued up. Best to start such initiatives.

Introduced in April 2022, the MK1S differs from conventional helmets with its patented RAYDAR system. The camera integrated into the chin bar not only records at 1080p resolution (60fps), but also captures great images in low light. All-seeing eyes help the system identify safety hazards. Convey threats to users via color-coded peripheral LED displays.

This technology is far from a one-horse. With the Forcite's handlebar-mounted controls installed, riders can now listen to music, phone calls, volume, camera and navigation wherever they are. Harman Kardon speakers complement the user interface with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. However, all those fancy features are meaningless if the helmet doesn't protect the rider in the event of a collision.

The carbon fiber shell enhances both lightweight construction and safety. while the 3D molded cheek pads and crown provide maximum comfort. Eight ventilation ports focus on airflow. But sweat-wicking material helps in the hottest conditions. Anti-fog Pinlock compatible visor helps maintain visibility. And a drop-in sunscreen protects riders from harmful rays.
